Join other experts and attorneys to hear Larry Dunville and Bill Acorn present their perspectives on the development of Expert Reports.  They will discuss the “do’s and don’ts” to help testifying experts prepare reports that are robust and defensible.  The program will provide real-world examples of reports. Expert reports are almost always discoverable, which means an expert report for today's case will live with you for the rest of your career. Larry Dunville

Larry Dunville is the owner/president of Overhead Crane Consulting, LLC, a consultant for crane projects as well as an expert witness for crane related cases. Overhead Crane Consulting, LLC services all North America. Larry provides competitive advantage to lawyers using his 35+ years crane experience as the owner/president of Dearborn Crane and Engineering Company, a nation-wide designer, manufacturer and installer of overhead cranes and crane runway systems. This experience provides a nuanced understanding of “OSHA 1910.179 Overhead Gantry Cranes” and the other 200+ specifications incorporated by reference that defines the legal requirements of the Crane Industry including crane design, installation, operator training, inspection and safety.

Larry is also the former Executive Director of the Crane Certification of Association of America, a non-profit association of crane inspection professionals. The CCAA helps define the standards for the crane inspection industry through establishing policy, training, inspector certification and lobbying. He sat on the AISE/AIST Committees #6 and #13, that writes the crane specifications for the steel industry, authored a crane operator training and safety program used on the Alaskan Pipeline, periodically taught portions of the OSHA 10 and 30 hour safety program and contributed to the re-writing of US Space Program crane specifications for SpaceX at Cape Canaveral. Larry is a graduate of Notre Dame and Harvard Business School.

William Acorn

William R. Acorn is principal and founder of Acorn Consulting Services. A consulting mechanical engineer specializing in the built environment, he provides project analysis, forensic reconstruction, litigation support services and advanced training. With more than 40 years’ experience as a professional engineer, Mr. Acorn is an internationally recognized authority on assessing, evaluating, conceptualizing and remediating complex project design, construction and operational issues related to HVAC systems, cleanrooms, piping systems, refrigeration systems, and building and fire code compliance. He has analyzed and designed hundreds of projects including commercial facilities, institutional laboratories and cleanroom facilities for the semiconductor, medical service, bio pharm, and advanced manufacturing industries. Mr. Acorn has significant experience as an expert analyst of system design, system failures, code compliance issues and cause/effect relationships of performance issues related to the built environment. As a forensic analyst, litigation consultant and expert witness, he has represented plaintiffs and defendants in a variety of jurisdictions with litigation values to greater than $250 MM US.

Bill is registered as a Professional Mechanical Engineer (P.E.) in Arizona, California, Colorado, Illinois, Iowa, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Oregon, Texas, Utah and Washington, and is also registered
