Join FEWA's Dallas Chapter on Thursday, May 10th for a dinner meeting and presentation - Tools of the Trade: Pups and Old Dogs Can Learn New Tricks. Whether you have years of experience in the Consulting and Expert Witness practice or you are just starting your business you can gain great knowledge at this meeting!

Kyle Moore, Brent Beers and Terry Reeves of Elite Docutech will share Best Practices of a defensible data collection and how that ultimately effects discovery. They will show us how to attain optimal document review and meeting production obligations in investigations and/or lawsuits.

SPEAKERS:

Lance Fogarty, CISSP, CCE - Protegga

Upon founding Protegga in 2003, Lance advised his clients on network and computer security using his nearly 30 years of experience in corporate networks and computing systems, all facets of the internet, physical, network, computer, and Internet security. Lance has focused solely on the Computer Forensics, e-Discovery, Data Collection, and Litigation Support aspects of computer security since 2005.

Lance has assisted clients in retrieving and analyzing computer evidence in cases involving Breach of Fiduciary Duty, Theft of Intellectual Property, Theft of Trade Secrets, Fraud, Forgery, Breach of Contract, Hidden Assets, Child Custody, Securities and Exchange Commission Investigations, Department of Justice Antitrust Investigations, Investigations on behalf of Bankruptcy Trustees, Spoliation and Destruction of Evidence, and other legal matters. As an expert witness, Lance has provided testimony in both federal and state courts, including those in Texas, California, and Illinois.

 

Grace Rubio, CCE - Protegga

After earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Grace joined Protegga in January 2010 as a Computer Forensic Investigator. In addition to over ten years of experience in operating systems and application support, networking and hardware support, and systems programming, Grace’s in-depth knowledge of computer systems, electronic data, quality control systems, and reverse engineering has provided the strong foundation needed for a career in computer forensics.

 

Grace has assisted clients in retrieving and analyzing computer evidence in cases involving Theft of Intellectual Property, Theft of Trade Secrets, Breach of Contract, Hidden Assets, Child Custody, Electronic Tracking, Securities and Exchange Commission Investigations, Department of Justice Antitrust Investigations, Investigations on behalf of Bankruptcy Trustees, Spoliation and Destruction of Evidence, and other legal matters. As an expert witness, Grace has testified in both civil and criminal matters within the United States Bankruptcy Court, the United States District Court, the Superior Court of Washington, and multiple district courts within the State of Texas.

 

Terry Reeves, CCE - Elite Document Tehnology

Terry Reeves has been involved in litigation support since 1993 where he worked as a production operator for Night Rider Overnight Copy Service (which would eventually be purchased by IKON). He has experienced every aspect of litigation support since his days as a key operator on the production floor. From CSR to Sales Manager, he has done it all. In 2001 he became the founding officer of one of the fastest growing service providers in the southern United States. His vast experience has encompassed much but his primary focus has been on sales, marketing & consulting throughout his career. Terry has consulted on numerous large cases involving complex electronic discovery matters, tight discovery deadlines & digital forensics matters. He is heavily involved in the day to day operations of the company and its sales staff and he embodies the "client first" mentality on which the company was founded. Terry is committed to continuing his education through training. In 2007 he became a Certified Computer Examiner and continues to train in data collections and electronic discovery tools and methodologies and has spoken publicly on the subjects of electronic discovery and deposition services on many occasions.

 

Terry is the proud father of four girls; Riley, Sidney, Kinsey & Hannah. He spends his free time with his family, his girls are involved in organized sports which keeps him very busy. When he's not spending time with his girls he can be found tinkering with his race car, working out or watching his beloved Kansas Jayhawks play basketball.

 

Brent Beers, CCE, ACE - Elite Document Technology

Brent Beers began his career with Elite Document Technology in 2002 only a few short months after the company was founded by Terry Reeves. In 1999, after a number of years in retail management, Brent began to train in information technology and quickly worked his way up in the litigation support industry. Over time, technology changed the way that legal professionals prepare and review documents and as a result he began to develop the digital document management division of Elite Document Technology. Brent has been training in electronic discovery management since 2002 and in general information technology since the early 90s. In 2004 he began his computer forensics education and became a Certified Computer Examiner (CCE, 2006) & an Access Data Certified Examiner (ACE, 2009). In 2007, Brent founded Elite Forensics Investigations, the computer forensics affiliate of Elite Document Technology and became a private investigator and a licensed private investigations company manager/owner. In 2008, Brent graduated from the University of Phoenix with a bachelor's degree in Business Management with an emphasis on Information Technology. Also in 2008 he became a minority partner in Elite Document Technology. Over the years he has been invited to speak at many functions regarding his experiences in electronic discovery case management, computer forensics & data collection. He has trained staff and educated clientele in all aspects of litigation support and document management. Brent continues to serve in the capacity of director of operations, IT & forensics for Elite Document Technology.

Brent is father to Kayla and Christian James Beers and husband to Mollie. He resides in Forney, Texas with his family and enjoys outdoor activities, working out, coaching his kids' teams and playing guitar. Brent & family are members of Life Church in Kaufman, TX where he serves as a member of the worship team.
