A refresher presentation on litigation privilege and witness immunity for experts. 

Content and Subject Matter 
This discussion will address liability and risk management topics important to expert witnessing potential liabilities for issues such as negligence, misrepresentation, defamation, or spoliation. Of interest will be how Texas courts may treat the topic.

The lecture is one hour taking place between 11:30 am - 1:00 pm, with allowance for questions and answers. The presentation is combined with a lunch meeting of FEWA members and guests.

James (Jim) Smith, a frequent speaker at FEWA events, is a shareholder at the law firm of Crain, Caton and James principally focusing on environmental matters including counseling, supporting transactions, and trying cases.
He also has experience in intellectual property matters and is registered before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office as a patent attorney. His degree in chemical engineering combined with his legal experience enable him to bring a unique perspective as he represents refining, petrochemical and other resource related industry clients.
