E. J. Janik, CPA, CFF, CFE

EJ Janik has over 33 years of full-time forensic accounting services, including accounting, financial, economic, construction, fraud and business dispute consulting, with expert witness experience. He holds a Master of Science in Accounting from Louisiana State University and a Bachelor of Commerce from Rice University. Mr. Janik is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants. He has over 54 trial/hearing testimonies in 8 states: (11 Federal, 21 State, 22 Arbitrations), and over 84 total expert testimony matters. He has worked on over 715 business dispute and consulting matters, 150 financial audits (Public Accounting) including over 11 years of engineering and construction matters.

Mr. Janik is a Principal and Practice Leader with Ryan Fraud and Forensic Recovery, LLC ("RyanFFR"). RyanFFR works extensively with law firms and corporations in forensic accounting, litigation, electronic discovery, and data mining. RyanFFR deploys a seasoned, multi-disciplinary global team of accountants, certified fraud examiners, former law enforcement and regulatory officials, economists, statisticians, and forensic technology specialists to provide dispute analysis and global investigative services in regulatory inquiries, litigation and FCPA matters.

Terry Taylor

  • Mr. Taylor is a Principal Engineer with Haag Engineering Company, the oldest failure and damage analysis (forensic) engineering company in the United States.  He also serves as the Branch Manager of the Austin, Texas, Office and is the Director of Professional Development for Haag. Mr. Taylor has been employed over 35 years with Haag as a civil/structural forensic engineer. He has performed thousands of consulting assignments involving
    • residential, commercial, and industrial roofing systems, structures, and foundations;
    • retaining wall systems;
    • architectural claddings and fenestrations;
    • moisture infiltration;
    • storm (wind, hail, tornado, hurricane, flood, fire) damage assessment;
    • code compliance; and
    • reconstruction monitoring.

Mr. Taylor earned a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin, and a M.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies from The University of Texas at Arlington. He is a Licensed Professional Engineer in 15 states and Puerto Rico, and he is a Certified XL Tribometrist and Certified Thermographer, Level I.

Mr. Taylor has testified as an expert witness in over 200 depositions and trials. He has published numerous academic papers and given over 100 technical presentations to various professional groups.  He is an active member of the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE), American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), American Concrete Institute (ACI), American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), American Association for Wind Engineering (AAWE), and the Forensic Expert Witness Association (FEWA).  Mr. Taylor is a Past Chair of the ASCE Texas Section Forensics Committee, and he currently is Past President of the FEWA Dallas Chapter.

Mr. Taylor participates in various hobbies and activities including golf, officiating baseball, and shooting sports.  He is interested in sharing his knowledge, skills, and experience interacting with clients, attorneys, and other parties to resolve issues.
