Chapter Event: Houston
Presenting a special guest for our 100th Houston Presentation!
Randy Sorrels, the incoming president of the State Bar of Texas, will be instructing our attendees in one of the most challenging aspects of expert performance, the witness examination.
Mr. Sorrels will discuss some of the best tactics and worst pitfalls common in the cross examination of a plaintiff's expert. The discussion will include topics beneficial to both counsel and expert, such as how an attorney can lessen the credibility of an expert and use the witness to strengthen his own case.
Mr. Sorrels is a partner at the law firm of Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Sorrels, Agosto & Aziz and has been named one of the top 100 lawyers in the state of Texas for the last 10 years. Inside the courtroom, he has established his presence as a double board certified trial lawyer in both personal injury and civil trial law— a distinction held by less than 0.1% of lawyers in Texas. Though his practice is not limited to medical malpractice, he has been named the Best Lawyers® Medical Malpractice Law – Plaintiffs "Lawyer of the Year" in Houston for three years. He handles cases involving serious personal injury, catastrophic events, wrongful death, and significant business disputes— including "bet the company" cases.
The lecture is one hour taking place between 11:30 am - 1:00 pm, with allowance for questions and answers. The presentation is combined with a lunch meeting of FEWA members and guests.
This course has been approved for 1 CFLC credit. MCLE credit pending approval.
