Martin V. Sinclair,  Sperling & Slater, P.C.

Martin Sinclair is an attorney with the firm of Sperling & Slater, P.C.

Prior to Sperling & Slater, Martin served as an associate at the law firm of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, where he has extensive experience representing public and private companies and individuals in all phases of litigation at both the trial and the appellate levels.

Mr. Sinclair’s experience includes representing Baxter International Inc. and certain of its officers and directors in a series of securities class actions and shareholder derivative suits; CF Industries Holdings, Inc. in litigation relating to its $4.7 billion acquisition of Terra Industries, Inc.; and GigaMedia Limited in connection with the sale of assets in the People’s Republic of China and related litigation in multiple national jurisdictions.

As a part of his practice, Mr. Sinclair is devoted to pro bono work. He has represented individual criminal defendants on direct appeal; secured permanent resident status for a juvenile refugee; and represented a major nonprofit community organization in litigation and mediation in connection with a dispute valued at more than $1 million.

Mr. Sinclair serves as a commissioner on the Illinois Supreme Court Commission on Professionalism, and is a member of the Landmarks Illinois Board of Directors and the LAF Young Professionals Board. In addition, Mr. Sinclair taught appellate advocacy at the Loyola University Chicago School of Law.
