Speaker Bios:

Judge Peter Flynn: Peter Flynn, who retired as a Cook County, Illinois Circuit Court Judge in September 2019, is a graduate of Harvard College and Yale Law School.  After practicing civil litigation (mostly complex business and commercial cases) for 30 years, he was appointed an Illinois Circuit Judge in 1999; elected in 2000; and  retained in 2006, 2012, and 2018.  As a judge, he served for 2 1/2 years in the Commercial Calendar section of the Cook County Circuit Court’s Law Division, and then for 16 1/2 years in the court’s Chancery Division.   He is a life member of the American Law Institute, and was an Adviser on its Restatement of the Law of Liability Insurance.  He is a founding member and past vice-chair and chair of the Chicago Bar Association’s Commercial Litigation Committee.  He taught Illinois Civil Procedure at The John Marshall Law School in Chicago from 2002 until 2015.  He has been a panelist or speaker in numerous judicial and practitioner CLE programs, including programs on e-discovery and information governance.  He is a fan of the Seventh Circuit Pilot Project (now the 7th Circuit Council on eDiscovery and Digital Information) and a strong proponent of the Sedona Conference Cooperation Proclamation.

John Sciaccotta has nearly 35 years of trial and litigation experience advocating for clients in complex civil litigation, arbitration, mediation and business counseling matters with a special emphasis on complex civil trial and appellate cases brought in federal and state courts and tribunals throughout the United States.  John represents publicly and privately held domestic and foreign business entities, lenders, employers, municipalities, government bodies and individuals in transactional matters and disputes.

Roger Holtzen’s litigation career spans more than 25 years of extensive experience providing presentation assistance in all venues from courtrooms to arbitrations across the globe. He has also provided assistance with video-taped depositions and software training.  He has worked in over 200 state and federal courtrooms, and represents clients in a host of areas including pharmaceutical defense, mass tort multi-district litigations, patent liability cases, corporate contracts, high-profile criminal cases, securities, mock trials and arbitrations.  Prior to entering the legal consulting field, Mr. Holtzen worked in the broadcast and industrial video production markets and has directed and edited award-winning multimedia projects for Davis Developments, The Junior League and The National Park Service.

John Levitske provides business valuation, forensic accounting, purchase price analysis, damage quantification, and dispute resolution services in complex commercial situations. He testifies as an independent expert witness in disputes, both domestic litigation and international arbitration, regarding issues of valuation, finance, damages, or accounting. He also acts as a neutral expert determiner or neutral arbitrator and advises clients in mediations and negotiations. He is frequently consulted regarding business disputes, shareholder disputes, and M&A transaction disputes. John attained MBA and JD degrees, plus several professional certifications in business valuation, finance and forensic accounting, and hold securities and investment banking licenses.
