How Clients Search for a Consultant and the Transition to Testifying Expert

Thursday, May 9, 2019  6:00 PM – 8:00 PM CDT

Do you know how prospective and current clients search for a consulting expert?  If you are a consulting expert and the assignment becomes a legal matter, do you know that your role may transition to that of a testifying expert?  What are the differences between these two roles?

Terry C. Taylor, PE, and E. J. Janik, CPA, CFF, CFE will co-moderate a panel consisting of Val Mansfield, Executive General Adjuster with McLarens and Brett A. Wallingford, Esq. of Zelle LLP.  Mr. Mansfield will walk attendees through the insurance claim process and what he looks for when hiring a consulting expert to assist him in adjusting a commercial insurance claim.  Mr. Wallingford will discuss his experiences working with the consulting expert engaged by the insurance carrier(s) during or after the claim process, as well as instances where he has been assigned a case to represent the carrier or their insured and he has searched for a testifying expert.
