How to Write a Bullet-Proof Expert Report

This event has passed

Chapter Event: Orange County

In many cases your expert report documents your opinions and provides a roadmap of how you developed your opinions.  A solid expert report is invaluable for depositions and trial testimony. Depending on the court and type of case, you may or may not be required to write an expert report.  Federal cases require what is called a Rule 26 Expert Report and these have very specific requirements.  Experts may also be asked to write a rebuttal report critiquing on the opposing experts’ opinions.  The presentation will describe how to approach writing your report, the key elements of a solid, defensible report, some ‘tricks and tips” to make your report stand out and some “traps” to avoid.
