"Top Super Lawyer" Barbara J. Barron will present how to deal with difficult cross examinations questions at trial and other jury specific topics. Attendees will learn do's and don'ts to watch out for and tactics for performance enhancement during court testimony.
Experts and attorneys will learn about the psychology of maintaining witness effectiveness in the high stress environment of civil litigation. Dr. Jim Will will discuss maintenance of mental effectiveness and burnout prevention in the high stakes world of civil litigation and psychological strategies to maintain positive self-talk and confidence. Issues key to both expert witness and attorney performance in deposition and at trial, focusing on stress control, self-confidence and identification of blind spots in presentation are addressed. Tips are given on testimony enhancement, pinpointing of personality type, rapport establishment with jury or counsel, and diffusal tactics in the event of irate cross examination.
Ms. Barron is a recognized “Top Super Lawyer” with more than 30 years’ experience and has represented clients in personal injury, mass tort, products liability, commercial litigation, and other complex civil litigation and has effectively and efficiently coordinated the nationwide and statewide defense for defendants. Her litigation experience includes numerous first chair trials in counties across the State of Texas to successful results, arguing major motions in various states, and taking lead for the defense group on significant motions in several states. Barbara has been requested by numerous courts to serve on steering committees and to act as liaison counsel to the bench. Ms. Barron practices out of the Beaumont Texas office of Mehaffy Weber.
Dr. Jim Will earned a Ph.D. with honors in Educational Psychology from the University of Oklahoma at the age of twenty five. As a consultant he has worked with the Wilmington Institute, a world-renowned trial science organization. As a noted international speaker, he has shared his information on self-image psychology with audiences in more than twelve foreign countries, and appeared as a guest on television and radio shows throughout the United States.
