The Expert’s Role in Discovery

Objective: A refresher presentation on how an expert can assist counsel with the discovery process.   

Content and Subject Matter: This discussion will address an expert’s assistance in acquisition of information leading to all parties in a civil lawsuit knowing all there is to know about both sides of a case. Attendees will learn about assisting with requests for production, depositions, interrogatories, subpoenas duces tecum, and other methods of discovery that yield broad-based knowledge allowing counsel on both sides to minimize surprises at trial or maximize the possibility of settlement.  The discussion will focus on portions of the rules of civil procedure addressing trial preparation for experts that every expert should know.

The webinar is one-hour taking place between 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm, with allowance for questions and answers.

About the Speaker: Konor Cormier

Konor Cormier is a Shareholder at the Houston law firm of Mehaffy Weber. He maintains a diverse practice representing companies and individuals as counsel for both plaintiffs and defendants. Konor’s practice includes litigating cases involving breach of contract, oil and gas matters, probate litigation matters, fraud, debt collection and post-judgment execution, personal injuries, premises liability, products liability, insurance defense, Jones Act, labor and employment disputes, and securities fraud.
