Richard J. Brzeczek, since 1964, has worked in the criminal justice system as a police officer and police official, a teacher, a criminal defense attorney and an expert witness regarding police practices and procedures, police misconduct and the "Omertà Azzura" or the Blue Code of Silence. He not only brings a rare combination of experience as a police officer and official, criminal defense attorney and expert witness but also experience in litigating civil rights cases on behalf of plaintiffs. As recently as 2013, knowing and understanding the role and parameters of an expert witness, he obtained an order in the United States District Court disqualifying a potential defense expert. His broad spectrum of experience in the various roles of his career has few peers.
