Learn About the CFLC Renewal Requirements and Renew Your Certification Today!

Over the past four years the Credentialing Committee has worked diligently to refine the CLFC application and recertification process with the goal of creating a credential that helps enhance the certificant's recognition and credibility as an educated and committed forensic consultant. The CFLC credential promotes a greater level of confidence for clients and employers while positioning the credential holder ahead of fellow experts in the same discipline without the credential. Your dedication, through FEWA involvement and continuing education, also shows your commitment to and passion for improvement in forensic consulting--all increasing your opportunities for leads, referrals and potential assignments.

In response to the increasing demand from the greater legal community, an examination will now be a required component for CFLC applicants and current CFLCs seeking recertification starting November 1, 2018. Current CFLC Certificants with certifications expiring on December 31, 2018  are required to submit their recertification application to the FEWA National Office by the end of the year. The CFLC Recertification requirements are listed below:

Recertification Requirements
  • CFLC Certificant in good standing
  • Submit Your Recertification Application & Fees Including:
    • Minimum 30 Points of approved CFLC Education/Coursework Credits or FEWA Participation Credits earned in last 3 years.
    • A minimum of 15 of the above points must be CFLC Education/Coursework Credits or approved equivalents, earned in last 3years

A passing score of at least 70% is required to proceed with the CFLC recertification application process. The exam can be taken an indefinite number of times until the required passing score is achieved.

What Will It Cost?
To maintain CFLC certification, certificants pay a fee of $295 for a three-year period, including a $50 recertification application fee and a $50 exam fee.

Recertification applications must be submitted to the FEWA National Office by December 31, 2018 or your certification status will be put before the Credentialing Committee for review and possible suspension or revocation. You must take the exam within 30 days of submitting your application. The recertification will not be approved until you have passed the exam.
