Make the Most of Your FEWA Connections in 2019

FEWA is excited about what we have planned for 2019 and want you to be part of it. Whether you’re a current FEWA member, an expert or consultant thinking about joining FEWA, or an attorney or legal professional who uses expert witness services--FEWA is here for you. FEWA is unique; as a non-profit organization, our goal is to provide professional development, ethics, and promotion of forensic consultants in all fields of discipline. Through education, peer-to-peer relationships, certification, and our online directory, FEWA teaches you how to obtain AND be prepared for your next job!

Are you taking advantage of all that FEWA has to offer? Review the list below and ask yourself, what should I look into further?

Education
Last year FEWA offered over 50 in-person educational and networking events across the country at local Chapter Meetings and the National Conference. Make time to attend a meeting or the National Conference in 2019 -- check out the Events page to learn more and plan ahead.

Additionally, FEWA offered over 10 virtual education opportunities via free webinars and the pilot of FEWA’s Virtual Networking series that members could take from the convenience of their home or office. Our webinars can be accessed live or via past recordings, only available to current members.

Our National Conference, April 26-27, 2019 in San Francisco is shaping up to be our best conference yet. Day One will feature the nuts and bolts that every expert or consultant needs in one’s practice, followed by Day Two focusing on “doing the job.” Don’t miss out on the chance to hear top notch speakers, innovative panel discussions, and make the peer-to-peer connections that are invaluable to the job.

Networking
The value of relationships among our members is invaluable. The majority of our engaged members would say their leads don’t come from a web listing, they come from the relationships they’ve established. FEWA’s membership spans across all industries, therefore expanding our members’ network across all industries, without one knowing (or putting in significant investment.) Attending in person and making the connection to our FEWA community is the first step to expanding your network. Make it a priority in 2019 -- attend an in-person meeting and see what will come from it.

Knowing not all FEWA members have the convenience of a local Chapter, FEWA is kicking off its Virtual Networking series to FEWA members in 2019. This series will take place bi-monthly and offer members a chance to network virtually with peers, ask relative questions, and participate in moderated discussions -- all from the convenience of your home or office. If you live in an area where FEWA does not yet have a Chapter, this event is for YOU! Register for our first Virtual Networking series on January 30 -- hurry, seats are limited.

Professional Development
In addition to continuing education, FEWA’s Certified Forensic Litigation Consultant (CFLC) certification sets CFLC certificants above the rest. CFLC certificants exhibit the experience and knowledge expected of an expert or consultant, giving an attorney the confidence needed when selecting an expert. If you’re an expert, take the time to learn more about the CFLC Certification to see if it’s the right next step for your professional development. If you’re an attorney, look for CFLC in members’ designations or on their FEWA online profile to help give you the confidence you need when sifting through experts.

Marketing
The FEWA Online Directory has new bells and whistles that attorneys are excited about. Since offering our Enhanced Online Profile to members, our website analytics have increased; meaning more searches and an increased opportunity for visibility. Members can now showcase videos, publications, a CV, and much more via the Enhanced Online Profile. Visit the Online Directory today to check it out for yourself!

As you can see, FEWA has a lot ahead of us in 2019 and we look forward to you being part of it. Learn more and either renew, join, or find an expert at www.forensic.org.
