How Experts Can More Effectively Testify Virtually During The Pandemic November 11, 2021 4:00 PM–5:00 PM CST
Hosted by FEWA Midwest This presentation is geared towards attorneys, medical professionals, and lay witnesses; anyone preparing to testify in court. The presentation on November 11th will be geared towards expert witnesses and the complexity of their testimony through the virtual medium as opposed to a fact witness or an attorney's. The level of this presentation is geared towards an intermediate level, and no prerequisites are needed to participate.
In this presentation attendees will learn to: Identify the strengths and weaknesses of virtual testimony, allowing them to avoid common traps, Prepare and develop a strategy for their unique case, Recognize and employ proper virtual courtroom etiquette for their case, Learn how to communicate more effectively through virtual mediums, and Gain an insight of the court's point of view of expert witnesses--both for virtual and in-person testimony. This event will consist of a 30-minute presentation and 30-minutes of networking following the presentation
Speaker 
Nicholas A. Battaglia, Esq.
Nicholas A. Battaglia is a licensed attorney in New York and New Jersey, as well as some related federal district courts. He is presently appointed to the New York State Supreme Court Greene County, as principal court attorney to a NYS Supreme Court Justice. Through his role with the court, as well as his previous experience as a plaintiff’s personal injury lawyer and defense work, he has handled and settled matters into the eight-figure range in a variety of practice areas. At least one of his peer-reviewed legal publications has been cited in the national Matthew Bender treatise series. He also owns a legal marketing firm with over 11 years of experience drafting law firm website content, and is a licensed real estate broker in New York. He lives in Albany, New York with his wife, newborn baby boy, and dog, where he is aspiring to be a horror writer.
