This webinar will present strategies to prepare for and manage cross-examination at trial by opposing counsel. It will also discuss how to be an effective expert witness at deposition by understanding the strategies and goals of opposing counsel.

In this session, you will learn:


1. How to protect yourself from attacks on your credentials and your credibility.
2. What methodology is effective to make your opinions resistant to effective cross-examination.
3. How to identify and defeat opposing counsel’s deposition tactics.

Robert M. Goldich, J.D., Senior Counsel, Greenberg Traurig, LLP 

Robert M. Goldich has 40 years of experience as both a traditional labor lawyer and an employment lawyer and litigator, with a focus on complex employment and class action litigation. His nationwide practice includes the trial of cases involving claims under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Age Discrimination in Employment Act, Equal Pay Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, Multi-Employer Pension Plan Amendment Act, wrongful discharge, whistleblower and employment tort actions, and enforcement of restrictive covenants, confidentiality agreements and trade secrets. 

Bob has been lead counsel in many class and collective actions alleging violations of ERISA, the Fair Labor Standards Act, and state wage and hour laws. Bob also negotiates union contracts, and represents employers in NLRB matters and labor arbitrations. Bob’s clients include Fortune 100 companies, smaller and entrepreneurial businesses, and higher education and health care institutions.

Bob also has litigated commercial contract and other business disputes. He received a B.A. from Lehigh University and a J.D. from Harvard Law School. He is admitted to practice in Arizona, New York, and Pennsylvania as well as the United States Courts of Appeals for the Third and Sixth Circuits and the United States Supreme Court.

 

Dan Bonnett, J.D., Partner, Martin Bonnett PLLC

Dan Bonnett is an experienced litigator representing individuals who need a strong and effective advocate to protect their rights in the workplace. Dan handles a wide variety of litigation matters involving employment discrimination, retaliation, wrongful discharge and other issues involving Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), and the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

Prior to moving to Phoenix, Dan was engaged in a corporate law and general litigation practice as a partner in a northern Illinois law firm. Dan now serves as counsel for the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) and Local 2960 and has represented employees of the City of Phoenix, Maricopa County and the State of Arizona.

Dan is a graduate of Augustana College (Ill.) and Drake University School of Law. He is admitted to practice in Illinois, Iowa and Arizona as well as the United States Courts of Appeals for the Sixth, Seventh, and Ninth Circuits and United States District Courts for the District of Arizona, Central District of Illinois, and District of Connecticut.
